Never share your seed phrase or main wallet private key. The dashboard only needs your public trading wallet address and the Hyperliquid API wallet key created for bot trading. Do not send seed phrases or private keys in Discord, email, screenshots, support tickets, or chat.

The whole setup path

Each box is one job. Work left to right and do not start the bot until the connection check passes.

1Create walletInstall a wallet extension and back up the seed phrase offline.
2Open HyperliquidUse the PolyTrader sign-up link and connect the wallet.
3Deposit fundsDeposit USDC through the route shown inside Hyperliquid.
4Create VPSChoose Ubuntu in Tokyo so the bot can run 24/7.
5Upload botMove the bot folder from the zip onto the VPS.
6Install botRun the Linux installer on the VPS.
7Open dashboardUse a private SSH tunnel, then open localhost.
8API walletCreate and approve a Hyperliquid API wallet.
9ConnectSave the public wallet address and API key in the dashboard.
10Settings & startCheck Settings, then run one method after the dry check looks right.

What you need before installing

A wallet you controlUse a normal EVM wallet such as Rabby or MetaMask for the trading account. Back up the seed phrase offline before funding it.
Trading fundsHyperliquid's onboarding docs describe USDC and ETH on Arbitrum as one common deposit path. Always follow the current deposit screen.
The customer zipUnzip it on your computer. It should contain this guide, README, manifest, and a bot folder.
A Tokyo VPSUse Ubuntu 22.04 or 24.04, 1 to 2 CPU cores, and 2 GB RAM minimum. Tokyo is the recommended low-latency VPS location for this bot.
One upload toolWindows users can use WinSCP. macOS and Linux users can use Terminal with scp and ssh.
Patience for depositsSmall test deposits are safer than sending the full amount first.

Step-by-step setup

1

Create the trading wallet

If you already have a wallet you want to trade from, use that. If not, install a wallet extension and create a new wallet before opening Hyperliquid.

  • Write the seed phrase down on paper and store it privately.
  • Do not upload the seed phrase to cloud notes, screenshots, Discord, Telegram, or email.
  • Keep enough ETH for any Arbitrum deposit gas if you deposit USDC from Arbitrum.
Wallet setup
Keep private
Seed phrase: never paste into the bot
Main private key: never paste into the bot
Public address: safe to paste into dashboard
Simple rule The bot needs permission through a Hyperliquid API wallet. It does not need your wallet seed phrase.
2

Create or connect the Hyperliquid account

Start from the PolyTrader Hyperliquid link, then connect the wallet you want the bot to trade from.

  1. Click Open Hyperliquid.
  2. Click Connect inside Hyperliquid.
  3. Choose your wallet and approve the connection popup.
  4. If Hyperliquid asks to enable trading, sign the gasless message.
Open Hyperliquid-> Connect wallet-> Enable trading
3

Deposit trading funds

Open the deposit screen in Hyperliquid and follow the current instructions shown there. Hyperliquid's official onboarding docs describe USDC on Arbitrum plus ETH for gas as one common path.

  1. In Hyperliquid, open Deposit.
  2. Choose the asset and network shown by Hyperliquid.
  3. Send a small test deposit first if you are new.
  4. Wait until Hyperliquid shows the balance.
Deposit screen
Check these before sending
Asset: USDC or the asset Hyperliquid shows
Network: exactly what the app shows
Amount: start small, then add more
Deposit warning Do not send tokens to a random address or random network. Use only the deposit route shown inside Hyperliquid.
4

Create the Tokyo VPS

A VPS is a cloud computer that keeps the bot online when your laptop is off. Use a Tokyo/Japan VPS location for the recommended low-latency setup.

Recommended first choice Click Create a Vultr VPS, then deploy a cloud compute server in Tokyo.
If Tokyo is unavailable Use another provider only if it clearly offers a Tokyo/Japan VPS location and Ubuntu server access.
  1. Choose Cloud Compute or the basic shared CPU option.
  2. Choose Tokyo, Japan as the VPS location.
  3. Choose Ubuntu 22.04 LTS or Ubuntu 24.04 LTS.
  4. Choose at least 1 CPU and 2 GB RAM. Use 2 CPU and 4 GB RAM if you want more headroom.
  5. Use root password login for the beginner path, or SSH keys if you already understand SSH keys.
  6. Deploy the VPS and copy the public IP address.
Keep this private Save the VPS IP and password in your password manager. The guide uses YOUR_VPS_IP as a placeholder.
5

Unzip the customer package

On your own computer, unzip the package. You should see these files and folders:

setup-guide.html setup-guide.pdf README.txt PACKAGE-MANIFEST.json bot/

The bot folder is what gets uploaded to the VPS. Do not rename files inside it.

6

Install the upload tool for your computer

Windows Install WinSCP for drag-and-drop upload. Use PowerShell or Windows Terminal for SSH.
macOS Use the built-in Terminal app. No extra upload app is required for the command-line method.
Linux Use the built-in terminal. Most Linux desktops already include ssh and scp.
7

Upload the bot folder to the VPS

Choose the instructions for your computer.

Windows with WinSCP
  1. Open WinSCP.
  2. File protocol: SFTP.
  3. Host name: YOUR_VPS_IP.
  4. User name: root.
  5. Password: your VPS root password.
  6. Click Login.
  7. On the right side, open /root.
  8. Create a folder named polytrader-hypertrader.
  9. Open that folder and upload everything inside your local bot folder.
macOS or Linux terminal

Open Terminal in the unzipped customer package folder and run:

ssh root@YOUR_VPS_IP "mkdir -p /root/polytrader-hypertrader" scp -r bot/* root@YOUR_VPS_IP:/root/polytrader-hypertrader/

Replace YOUR_VPS_IP with the VPS IP address.

8

SSH into the VPS and run the Linux installer

Open PowerShell, Windows Terminal, macOS Terminal, or Linux Terminal.

ssh root@YOUR_VPS_IP cd /root/polytrader-hypertrader sudo bash install.sh

When the installer finishes, the dashboard service starts on the VPS, but it stays private on localhost.

Expected result The terminal prints that PolyTrader HyperTrader is installed and shows the SSH tunnel command.
9

Open the dashboard privately

Keep the VPS SSH window open, or open a second terminal window on your own computer and run:

ssh -L 8090:127.0.0.1:8090 root@YOUR_VPS_IP

Then open this on your own computer:

http://127.0.0.1:8090
Private dashboard path
Your browser: localhost:8090
SSH tunnel: encrypted connection
VPS dashboard: only bound locally
If the page does not load The tunnel window must stay open. Also confirm the VPS IP is correct and the dashboard service is running.
10

Create the Hyperliquid API wallet

Hyperliquid calls API wallets agent wallets in its docs. The API wallet signs orders for your main account, while the dashboard still queries your main public wallet address.

  1. Open Hyperliquid.
  2. Open the API wallet area from inside the app.
  3. Create a new API wallet.
  4. Approve it when your main wallet asks you to sign.
  5. Copy the API wallet private key once and store it safely.
Important dashboard detail Paste the main trading wallet public address into the wallet address field. Paste the API wallet key into the API key field. Do not paste the API wallet address as the trading wallet address.
11

Save the connection in the dashboard

In the dashboard, open Account Connection and fill in only these two fields.

Account Connection
Customer trading wallet address
Paste the public wallet address
API wallet private key for orders
Paste the API wallet key
Save connection
Connection check
After saving
Click Check connection
Expected: Hyperliquid responded
Expected: balance or account data appears
Account mode: Unified Account lets spot USDC also margin the BTC hedge
12

Run a dry arb scan before live trading

This checks that the bot can scan Hyperliquid prediction markets without placing orders.

ssh root@YOUR_VPS_IP cd /opt/polytrader-hypertrader ARB_DRY_RUN=1 ARB_RUN_SECONDS=20 ARB_MAKER_ENABLED=0 ARB_TAKER_ENABLED=1 .venv/bin/python arb_bot_v2.py

The dry run should print scan activity and then stop. A dry run should not spend funds.

13

Review Settings, then start one trading method

Use the dashboard Settings tab to choose Cautious, Balanced, or More trades. New installs use Balanced: at most 10% of usable balance before the dollar cap, a $100 starting trade cap, 10x BTC hedge leverage, and a 5% daily-loss pause. Existing installs keep their saved settings. Presets are starting risk policies, not profitability claims or personal advice. After that, use the Trading method section and start only one method at a time.

Prediction AutopilotMain method. Watches the current prediction market, sizes from the detected balance, manages risk controls, and waits for close or settlement.
Prediction Market Arb (Beta)Starts in dry run on new installs. It subtracts the account's current Hyperliquid outcome close/settlement fee before taker or maker edge can qualify, verifies both live fills separately, and tries to flatten unmatched inventory immediately. Review dry-run results before considering live use.
Referral Unlock ToolOptional helper for customers who want to unlock their own Hyperliquid referral code. It is not the profit strategy.
Trading risk Automated trading can lose money. Start small, watch the first cycle, and do not run multiple methods on the same balance.

Using the Settings tab

After the dashboard is running, customers do not need terminal commands for normal bot tuning. Autopilot's new-entry decision also uses a fail-closed all-in estimated-cost gate for fees, executable depth, slippage, funding, and the active edge floor; those are entry-time estimates, and each trade's P&L uses its actual fills, fees and funding.

Account ConnectionSave the public trading wallet address and Hyperliquid API wallet key.
Prediction AutopilotEdit sizing, minimum edge, hedge behavior, add-to-winner controls, and timing.
Cut losing hedgeDefault on. Lets Autopilot close a losing BTC hedge when the prediction side is already winning and projected settlement profit remains positive.
Re-arm hedgeIf BTC breaks back across the target after a hedge cut, Autopilot can hedge again.
Prediction Market ArbEdit scan speed, minimum arb edge, dry run, taker mode, maker mode, and USDC sizing.
Referral Unlock ToolEdit symbol, leg size, target volume, safety ceiling, and cycle delay.
Save settingsSaves values to the VPS so they apply the next time that method starts.
Save & restart running methodSaves values and restarts the active systemd strategy so changes apply immediately.

Updating the bot later

From version 3.0.39, open Software updates in the dashboard and press Update. HyperTrader and its updates are free, with no paid licence or account code needed. Your existing Hyperliquid referral setup stays in place. The bot verifies the download, prepares dependencies, keeps your settings and trades, and checks the restarted version. Stopped modes remain stopped. If a restart fails, it attempts to restore the previous program. Private code edits stay in the backup and are not merged into official releases.

The steps below are only for the first upgrade from an older package to enable the button.

Updating means replacing the program files. Do not delete the saved VPS data folder unless support specifically tells you to.

Enable updates on an older VPS install

  1. Unzip the newest PolyTrader HyperTrader package on your computer.
  2. Upload everything inside the new bot folder into /root/polytrader-hypertrader/ on the VPS.
  3. Choose overwrite or replace if your upload tool asks.
  4. SSH into the VPS and run the updater.
cd /root/polytrader-hypertrader sudo bash update.sh

What stays saved

The updater keeps the customer account connection, dashboard settings, bot state, logs, and saved keys in /opt/polytrader-hypertrader/. You do not need to stop the bot first.

After updating Open the dashboard, check the top status bar, and confirm the method you want is running. If a method was already running before the update, the updater restarts that same method.
Windows local installs can rerun install.bat. macOS local installs can rerun ./install_macos.sh.

Dashboard labels in plain English

Estimated equityCash plus open positions valued at the latest available price. Deposits still show here because they are real account funds.
Open P&LEstimated profit or loss for the current open trade before it closes. Extra deposits added mid-trade are not counted as bot profit.
Realized P&LProfit or loss the bot has already counted from closed cycles.
Total P&L tallyRealized P&L plus the current open trade estimate.
Daily P&L calendarGreen and red boxes grouped by UTC day. Today can include the open trade estimate until it closes.
Cycle win/loss historyEach prediction cycle shown as Open, Win, or Loss with its own P&L. A normal loss is not the same thing as liquidation.
Equity curveA simple line showing the bot-tracked equity estimate over time, excluding extra deposits added during an open trade.
Risk hedgeA BTC futures hedge only when the strategy decides risk control is needed. The bot can cut it if it starts reducing a strong projected win.
Hedge cut/releasedNo BTC hedge is open because the bot deliberately closed it to protect the combined trade result.
Hedge liquidation bufferOnly matters when a BTC hedge is open. No hedge means no hedge liquidation risk.
Available balanceFunds Hyperliquid reports as available for new trades.
Trading method lockedAnother method is already running, so the dashboard blocks a second method from using the same balance.

Useful service commands

Run these on the VPS after SSH login.

Dashboard

sudo systemctl status polytrader-hypertrader-dashboard --no-pager sudo systemctl restart polytrader-hypertrader-dashboard

Prediction Autopilot

sudo systemctl start polytrader-hypertrader-autopilot sudo systemctl stop polytrader-hypertrader-autopilot sudo journalctl -u polytrader-hypertrader-autopilot -f

Prediction Market Arb

sudo systemctl start polytrader-hypertrader-arb sudo systemctl stop polytrader-hypertrader-arb sudo journalctl -u polytrader-hypertrader-arb -f

Dashboard tunnel

ssh -L 8090:127.0.0.1:8090 root@YOUR_VPS_IP

Optional local install

The Linux VPS install is the normal 24/7 trading setup. Windows and macOS local installs are included for learning, checking the dashboard, and development-style testing on your own machine.

Windows local dashboard
  1. Install Python 3.11 or newer.
  2. Open the bot folder.
  3. Double-click install.bat.
  4. Double-click start_dashboard.bat.
  5. Open http://127.0.0.1:8090.
macOS local dashboard
cd bot chmod +x install_macos.sh start_dashboard.sh ./install_macos.sh ~/PolyTraderHyperTrader/start_dashboard.sh

If something does not work

WinSCP cannot connect Check the VPS IP, username root, password, and SFTP protocol. If the VPS provider uses SSH keys, load the key in WinSCP instead of a password.
Dashboard page does not load Keep the SSH tunnel window open. Then run sudo systemctl status polytrader-hypertrader-dashboard --no-pager on the VPS.
Connection check fails Make sure the wallet address is the main trading wallet address, not the API wallet address. Make sure the API wallet was approved inside Hyperliquid.
Balance does not show Wait for the deposit to appear inside Hyperliquid first. The bot cannot trade funds that Hyperliquid has not credited yet.
Another method is locked Stop the running method before starting a different one. This protects the account from two strategies spending the same balance.
Someone asks for your seed phrase Stop. That is not part of PolyTrader HyperTrader setup.
